Currently exhibiting works of Jean W. Morey Sarasota Art for Humanity Gallery, Sarasota Design Network now in Bucko's Office Furniture Building,
Jean W. Morey holds a BA in creative writing from Eckerd College, a MA in Illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design and is a member of the Florida Watercolor Society. Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and nature Coast Painters.
Working in watercolor, pastel and colored pencil, among many other media, Jean has published more than 58 books. Many of the illustrations she created for the Head Start program in the 1960s established the look of the program’s publications.
In addition to her children’s book illustrations, Jean’s artistic pursuits have included puppetry and designing decals for children’s furniture, layouts and advertisements for the Fair Store in Chicago, and bookends for the Consolidated Book Co.
Teaching this Fall at Long boat Key AC, State College od Florida CCD, and USF, LLL. (see their catalogs or www.jeanmorey.com
She also has taught painting, illustration and art therapy to a range of audiences in numerous venues, and her work has been shown in galleries and museums throughout the U.S.
Her work, mostly watercolors, will inspire you with their vibrant colors and amazing details.
