Arts Alive! in the Village of the Arts

The Village of the Arts is throwing a huge public party called ARTS ALIVE on Saturday, May 9th from 10am-4pm and everyone is invited! Bring your inner artistic child to this day-long community celebration featuring hands-on art activities, games, food and fun for the entire family. Street performers, musicians, circus performers and food vendors will be scattered throughout the Village all day. Life-sized Styrofoam Funky Man sculptures were distributed free to schools in Manatee. Students had a couple months to transform them into an artistic statement using their imagination and creativity. During the ARTS ALIVE event the completed sculptures will be on display throughout the Village and many will be auctioned.

Hands-on art activities will be offered. Non-profit organizations, who make a donation, will be given a 5’ Funky Man to decorate and display and an opportunity to display a free information booth - if an arts activity is offered at their booth. It's not too late; sponsors are still being sought from the community. There will be an area for animal groups complete with a doggie water station.
