Having trouble updating your Member Profile Page?

  • Rating: 5 after 2 votes
Hello AnythingArts.com Members,

Several Members, including me (Rick), are having problems with Profile Pages not saving changes made to them. We are working with the web developer to figure out what the problem is and how to solve it. So far, one common element may be Explorer 7.

If you have problems, please add to this Blog and give specifics about your issue, what changes you made that were not saved : in which Profile Page category box, Profile Photo, etc.

Below is a note from Member "Emily From Ning." She is helping us figure this out. Sorry about this, we are on it!

From Emily:

I just signed back into your social network and updated my profile in Internet Explorer 7. One profile question that I answered was the hobbies one and it took my answer. Do you know if you get the message that it has been successfully saved? I'd like to have someone take a deeper look into this issue for you. Could you provide me the following information?

-Some examples of member profile pages that this is affecting
-Is it only happening on IE 7? If this is the case the workaround for these members is to try on Firefox browser (http://www.getfirefox.com) until we find root cause
-Approximately around when this issue started occurring? Have there been any changes or additions to your network since this occurrence started happening?
-Any other details you could provide will help us investigate further.

Thanks!
Emily

Delete Comment Still working on it! Most people have resolved their issues by clearing their cache and/or switching from IE7 to FireFox.

Went to Mozilla/Foxfire and made changes - they seem to have "stuck". Thanks for the tip and good luck on finding the "root of the issue" with IE ... Judy

Success! I went in and changed it and it worked and then went right back in and changed it again and it worked again. I use IE7. First it wouldn't record any of the new information, then it recoreded some of it, now it seems to recored all of it. I'll test it again later.

Just tried to change my profile again in the following areas: Occupation, "About Me", the Categories - and several others. Clicked SAVE and went back - not saved unfortunately. I will try to the foxfire route when I have another moment or two to check it out. Judy

ok, it is just like going to the doctor and the "hurt" goes away or to the car dealing and the sound no longer exists... I just tried again (my 5th attempt) and this time the changes I made to my Profile Pgae remained and are saved. Go figure.

Let me know if it is now working for others...maybe it is fixed. Rick
