About Me
Mr Dillon is a Florida native and has been involved in theatre all his life. His experience covers a broad range including lighting and scenic design, production/technical and artistic direction. He has held executive staff positions around the country, having worked at the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma City, The Banyan Theater, The Polk Theatre, The Arcade Theatre, The Sarasota Opera, Asolo Repertory Theatre and Florida Studio Theatre, among others. Jeff has worked for the FSU Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training as Production Manager / Technical Director. He has provided production/technical, design and artistic guidance for over 400 shows. Mr Dillon has been the Resident Scenic Designer for Southeastern University having designed Forever Plaid, Fiddler on th Roof, To Kill a Mockingbird, HMS Pinafore, The Tenderland, Scarlet Pimpernel, Glass Menagerie and I Hate Hamlet . As a scenery and lighting designer, his designs have been seen at theatres and colleges around the country, designing The Retreat From Moscow for The Banyan Theater and Fences and Black Nativity for The West Coast Black Theatre Troupe. He has designed the scenery for the production of Always Apart of Me for the Players Theatre to be showcased at the Florida Theatre Conference. He recently designed The Long Weekend for The Anna Maria Island Players. Jeff has designed several light shows for Florida Studio Theatre's Cabaret Series as well as Agnes of God and Dirty Blond for FST's Mainstage . In his role as director, Mr Dillon has directed over 25 productions including Nunsense I & II, Oklahoma, Art, Squabbles, Actor's Nightmare and Mr. Roberts among others. He has directed shows for Venice Theatre, Charlotte Players, Theatre Winter Haven as well as The Man of La Mancha for The Players Theatre in Sarasota. Jeff is a show and jazz drummer performing in musicals, jazz concerts and cabaret shows and the band Bedazzled with Bonnie Gray as well as Menopause The Musical™ at Asolo Rep.
