- About Me
- I am a sculptor, mold maker and fabricator, with 25 years of experience operating a small visual production studio in Sarasota Florida. I began sculpting at a very early age. My facination with movie magic and the artists that brought characters to life, led me to pursue a career in special effects. I was a student of Dick Smith, (Oscar winning make-up artist and inventor),and I enjoyed a brief career in special effects make-up and film production in the 1980's. While I waited for Hollywood to come to Florida, the theme parks grew and the film work slowed. I settled in as a special theme fabricator through the 1990's, working mainly on large scale foam sculptures, molds, and displays for international themed restaurants and parks. Outback, Carrabba's, Hopps, Shells, and Golden Corral restaurants were a few of my production accounts. The film credits and productions that I worked on include: Seaquest DSV, Basket Case 3-The Progeny, Quentin Tarrantino's production of "Curdled", Rescue 911, Disney on Ice. I know the world is okay when two big guys like us are crying about something we have a mutual interest in. There's a Halloween party on the ball field at the center on the 31st. The kids will be singing. It would be great to create something special for them. There's this saying that "if you want to get anything done, give it to the busy person". We'll figure it out.
