Neigbhors Not Strangers

Well, 2009 is starting off with a bang. Receiving of artworks started yesterday, and we had a great turnout! There were over 265 submissions and entries. The jurors (Connie Allegra of Sarasota Interior Design, Joan McGee of Serendipity Gallery, and Vicki Chelf, artist extraordinaire) had a most difficult time of making selections.

The "Critique Night" is Thursday, January 8th, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Artists who were selected or not can hear the thought process of the jurors, find out what they were… Continue

Fine and Fabulous Holiday Art Market

If you haven't seen it yet, you're in for a wonderful surprise! Lots of fun, one-of-a-kind gifts and art pieces at reasonable prices. Many of the hand-made gifts are sure to be treasured; and no one will be giving the same gift as you this holiday season.

Hi to all at Art Center Sarasota -- "HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!" This is to invite you to Elysian Fields, where I will be giving Intuitive Readings on December 14 (10:30 - 3:30), December 16 (4 - 7:30 pm) and December 28 (10:30 - 5:30), if you're into that. I'd love to tell you about your aura and life path energy, or else answer any questions you may have. I've been seeing auras since birth and painting images of my visions since age three.

Please check out at my web site (shaman.mosaicglobe.com) or Elysian Fields' web site (elysianfieldsonline.com) for more info. You may also call me (415-244-9445) or call Elysian Fields (941-366-4982) for an appointment. I look forward to having the chance to meet you.

Truly, Jack

I would love to teach some jewelry classes at your facility. Do you offer evening classes? Do you currently have a jewelry studio? I taught Silver I and Silver II at the Manatee Arts Center.
Thanks,
Donna

"TOO PRECIOUS TO SELL?" - that is a question that is only answerable by the originator of an artpiece. Most working artists struggle for name recognition in an attempt to sell their art. Yet, every once and a while a piece evolves into a glittering example of perfection that you can not part with it. Is it the fear that the artist will never again be able to capture that perfection? Is it a sentimental reason that an artist will not sell a certain piece? Does anyone have a piece they have created that they will not sell and why? Delete Comment

Glittering Shining Paint all over ya! The Body Painter! That my angle? Swooping down to paint live people. Like live statues, only better! Moving ones! and...everybody...FREEZE! Art is not one medium.
