Art Uptown Gallery Inc., the oldest gallery in Sarasota, has for twenty-eight years, offered collectors and art buyers in general, high quality work done by fine artists of Florida. In the past this has necessarily meant living within convenient access to the gallery, and exhibiting and working in the gallery. We are now offering an additional number of artists the opportunity to join our Artuptown.com website membership.
This affords the website artist the opportunity to be affiliated with one of Sarasota’s finest galleries without any of the usual time consuming and expensive responsibilities connected with the traditional gallery association.
These website members would:
1.Be listed as an Art Uptown Gallery artist under the title Website Artists. These artists must be Florida residents and the initial offering will be limited to 120 members.
2.Be juried into the website membership.
3.Be given website space, one bio page of 2000 words or less, 1-10 images of their work with title, size, medium, price, and contact information.
4.Duties include updating their website images and paying the small, one-time, set-up fee of $30 and yearly dues of $120.
Sales made through the website may be handled in one of two ways.
1. The gallery sales staff would handle the sale and bill the customer including taxes and charge the client any shipping costs, the artist is responsible to bring/ship the work to the gallery. Customers could use their credit card through the gallery’s account. If the sale is made through the gallery, the gallery would receive a 25% commission for handling the sale.
2. The artist may handle the sale directly being totally responsible to the customer for billing, shipping and taxes.
