Gulf Coast Community Choir Concert to benefit Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities, Inc.

On Sunday May 3rd at 3:00 pm, the Lakewood Ranch Campus of the Sarasota Baptist Church will be the site of a “Harmonious” event benefiting the over 900 children, teens and adults with disabilities that Community Haven has been dedicated to serve for 55 years. The Gulf Coast Community Choir has generously offered their talents to raise much needed funds.
The Gulf Coast Community Choir is a multi-cultural group made up of 35 singers from the Manasota area. All have had some experience singing with other choral groups, some have had musical training and a few have sung or are singing professionally. The choir was formed in 2000 and is under the direction of Dr. Carroll Buchanan who received his training at the Julliard School of Music.
Community Haven is a 55 year old agency tucked quietly back on a 32 acre oasis and is one of Sarasota’s best kept secrets. “Hopefully with the help of community based organizations like the Gulf Coast Community Choir, events like this will spread the word on the wonderful work we do and The Haven will be a secret no more.” says Marla Doss Development Director at CHAC.
The event will run approximately 2 hours offering something for the whole family… From Brahms to Spirituals and Folk to Pop… everyone will be entertained.
Tickets can be purchased by calling 941-355-8808 x224 or at the door. Tickets will run $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for Students with ID and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Light refreshments will be offered after the concert. All proceeds will go directly to Community Haven and donations are gratefully accepted.
